This project brought new energy and coherence to the guest arrival experience at Roar & Snore, Taronga Zoo Sydney’s overnight camping stay.
The refreshed signage package was designed to be both practical and immersive, guiding guests with clarity while deepening their emotional connection to Taronga’s global conservation mission.
The suite included a bold entry marker to signal the experience ahead, hand-illustrated motifs and iconic animal photographs on banners for each tent, and a bespoke directional post showcasing Taronga’s international conservation projects, complete with distances and orientations from that exact spot. Designed to feel grounded in place, the signage blends functionality with storytelling, creating a sense of belonging and perspective for every guest who steps onto the site.
All signage elements were custom designed to reflect the natural tones and textures of the site, combined with smooth sprayed aluminium and bold, friendly typography. The conservation directional post was fabricated in collaboration with local makers, using a hand-sourced recycled timber sleeper, with the goal of creating a tactile and memorable focal point that sparks curiosity and pride.
Every touchpoint was considered with the guest journey in mind, balancing wayfinding needs with Taronga’s commitment to storytelling, connection and care for wildlife.
